New Orleans DFC Camps

DFC Camps are the perfect camp for players ages 5 - 14 of all ability levels. It is important to us that players have fun, be engaged, and learn from our coaches. Our camps are a great opportunity for players to enjoy the game of soccer while improving their technical and tactical skills and abilities.

Description:

Our DFC Camps are for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level players.  The curriculum of the camps is designed to accelerate the player’s technical ability in a fun and safe environment.  This unique camp is a top-of-the-line experience for players that want to keep up or improve their skills throughout the Summer months.  These camps are designed for players that are willing to be pushed.  The main focus will be on technical development, small-sided games, speed, and agility.

Players will be grouped according to age and ability.

NEW ORLEANS DFC CAMPS - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

To help you better understand our camps we have answered the most frequently asked questions from parents and players.

Q.  WHERE IS THE LOCATION FOR THE CAMPS?
A. ATONEMENT LUTHERAN SCHOOL
6500 RIVERSIDE DR, METAIRIE, LA 70003

Q:  WHAT TIME IS ARRIVAL AND PICK-UP?
A:  Please arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to the first session so we can check-in everyone quickly and get everyone playing as soon as possible. On future days please arrive 10 minutes prior. Players will be back in the pick-up area by the scheduled end of the day. Please make sure that your child signs out before leaving. This is a very important safety consideration for us.

Q:  WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR TO CAMP?
A:
All players should wear shorts, T-Shirt, sneakers or cleats. All players must wear shin guards.  For younger players, shin guards that have an ankle guard may be a good idea. All campers will receive a DFC T-Shirt, which they will be encouraged to wear throughout the week and especially on the last day of camp.

Q:  What should my child bring?

A:  Lots of energy! our camps are very active, and we encourage maximum participation. Players should bring a ball with them each day. Please bring your own personal water bottle.  Bottled water can be purchased from concessions.

Q:  WHAT IS THE RIGHT BALL SIZE FOR MY CHILD TO HAVE?
A:
Size (3) - 7 and Under, size (4) - 8 - 11 years old, and size (5) - 12 years old and Up.

Q:  Can I stay to watch my child play?

A:  Parents are welcome to stay and watch as often as they like. We truly want parents to see first-hand the professionalism of our staff and the excellent work they do with our campers.

Q:  How are children 'grouped'?

A:    By age and ability, assuming they are not part of a team. We challenge and stimulate each player and continually evaluate the groups to ensure everyone is correctly placed. Please speak to your coach if you have any questions about camp grouping.

Q:  Are there bathroom facilities?

A:   Yes, Atonement Lutheran School has its own restrooms facilities.

Q:  Do the children take breaks?

A:   Absolutely! Whether inside or outside, our coaches insist on taking frequent water breaks. Again, we take safety very seriously and it is very important to us that players rest and rehydrate.

Q:  ARE THE CHILDREN SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES?
A:
Yes. The safety and well-being of your child are our number one priority. On and off the field the players are under the constant direction of our coaches. We also ask for emergency contact numbers for all parents as part of the registration process.

Q:  How will I know how my child is doing at camp?

A:   Ask! our coaches are good people as well as great teachers. Get to know them. They enjoy discussing the development of the children prior to or after camp.

Q:  What happens if it rains?

A:   If it starts to rain, we will stay indoors (the school gym). The camp director is familiar with these scenarios and the facility and will make decisions as needed. If there is bad weather before camp starts, please check the website for updates.

Q:  Can I give feedback on my child’s camp experience?

A:   Absolutely! We want to earn our reputation in part by listening to constructive feedback. We encourage online feedback through a survey that will be sent to you and by you providing feedback through jpaiz.dynamo@gmail.com

Q:  WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
A:
If a player is registered for camp and becomes unable to attend, cancellation must be received no less than four (4) days prior to the start of camp.  If we receive notification within the time limit, we will refund the camp fee minus a $40.00 non-refundable deposit/fee.  If a player is injured, you will need to submit a doctor’s note to jpaiz.dynamo@gmail.com.  A doctor’s note must be received prior to the start of the camp.  We will then refund the full camp fee.
